The
Starkville-Mississippi State University Symphony Association Inc.
is a nonprofit corporation. Each year, with the help of your contributions,
the association sponsors orchestral and choral concerts that are free
to the public.
Young people from Golden Triangle high schools, community volunteers
and professional musicians from Starkville, Northeast Mississippi, and West Alabama make up the orchestra
and chorus. The association also sponsors annually a free educational
program for children in the Starkville area schools. This program
offers children knowledge and encourages their appreciation of symphonic
music, opera, dance and drama.
The association expresses appreciation for the past support of participants
and members and invites both participation and contributions for the
celebration of the 39th season.

Dear
Friends of the Symphony Association:
The "Historical 39th Season" of the Starkville-MSU Symphony
Association has just begun and we invite you to be a part of our
musical season. Starkville is famous for so many things and music
is certainly one of them. We believe we have the distinction as
the smallest community in the United States that has been supporting
a symphony orchestra for 39 consecutive years.
We strive to produce music of high quality and attractive concert
presentations for your entertainment and education. Dr. Michael
R. Brown, head of music education at MSU, will lead our orchestra.
Mr. Ted Beverly, music director at First United Methodist Church, will
lead the chorus. Also, Dr. Joe Ray Underwood, assisted by Ms. Ellen Boles, will coordinate the
Programs for Children. With their leadership and our talented participants,
you do not want to miss any of our concerts.
As a nonprofit corporation, we need your
financial support. With ample funding, we can continue
to provide free concerts and programs to the public.
Any amount is appreciated and all
contributions are tax deductible.
It is important that you print the form above, fill it out
and mail it and your contribution as soon as possible. All
contributions should be made payable to either:
Starkville-MSU Symphony Association -or- MSU Foundation

Sincerely,
